In order to provide quality components to system users, the
semiconductor manufacturer must be able to demonstrate quality levels.
The challenge with this concept is that the manufacturer must do this
using a more limited set of samples, since stressing the entire
population is time-consuming and counterproductive. In order to
demonstrate quality levels, we rely on basic statistic concepts. We
will introduce those concepts in this course.
