LED/SSL Technology and Packaging

This course covers the technology and packaging associated with Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) and Solid State Lighting (SSL).  We cover the basics of LED operation, the market trends associated with LEDs and SSL installations.  We also cover the manufacturing process along with the packaging and assembly process.  We pay special attention to thermal dissipation topics, since many SSL applications use high power LED chips that dissipate significant heat.  We also discuss reliability and testing of these products.
